So in other words….this was NOT a romantic moment n the slightest (something that women have been saying for a long time now) and it’s not a moment that should be looked to for inspiration of any kind.
Read the part in the article where she recalls how drunk he was. Classy.
BTW? This isn’t breaking news. Many women have KNOWN that this was sexual assult for a long time now. This was common knowledge among people who weren’t ignorant to rape culture.
I’d laugh hysterically that DC Comics proudly went on National Broadcasts and cited this moment AKA SEXUAL ASSAULT as the inspiration for their “power couple” Superman/Wonder Woman kiss but frankly, it’s too pathetic to even laugh about. Karma is such a bitch and you reap what you sow. If, as a company and a brand, you remain ignorant to gender problems and ignorant to sexism, misogyny and the effects of a rape culture than you deserve to look like complete assholes.
Rape culture. How romantic.
I had a two-week long argument once about a piece of fanart based on this kiss, and why I disliked seeing Wonder Woman in the female pose. My opponent didn’t like that I thought it looked passive.
I would simply like it noted that I was right.
Also, that piece of fanart was sloppy and crappy.
